Laura Berg is a Professor, Therapist, author and award-winning parenting expert. She considers herself a life-long student and is always seeking to further her education. After years of teaching Laura decided to go back to school to get a diploma in Psychotherapy as well as two specialty certifications in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).
Her interest in therapy first began when her daughter was diagnosed with depression. Laura has lived with depression since the age of sixteen and was devastated to learn her daughter had the same ailment. She knows the struggle it can be living with depression. Laura is open, caring and warm. You can be comfortable knowing that she not only has the education to help treat you but also the person experience and first-hand understanding.
Laura enjoys working with youth. As a teacher she has experience with that age group from an education standpoint but also from a personal one. If your teen is struggling Laura can help give him/her strategies to deal with issues he/she may be facing.
Laura also specializes in adoptee issues. Especially adoption rejection issues. She is adopted herself and faced horrible rejection from her birth family. After years of therapy herself and her psychotherapy education she’s able to help adoptees overcome the trauma they faced.
